Kaanchi

Everywhere I went, I've heard apprehensive negative reviews of this film. Whether it was Rohit Veer on radio, my social circle of friends or one timers whom I got to meet just once only to receive a poor review of the film before I stomped myself to book tickets online, as a weekend family outing.

The movie is basically about this girl from a village in the north, she is bold and ferocious unlike any other person around her . Having a grounded ethical belief  about the world, herself and others around her. She is a Jhansi ki Rani, in her minds eye. Winding like a hurricane inside but calm composed outside. She is deeply in love with a boy whom she is eventually about to marry when these two decide to flamboyantly escape  their own engagement ceremony for the mischief of creating memento's for life, by visiting a cliff for its scenic beauty and posing photographs of each other. The groom foolishly steps down on the road, of the highway to get a better shot of her bride when he is struck by a truck in speed.
This is no accident though, it is the deed of a coward painter friend of Kaanchi, who she volunteered to become the tourist guide for out of pure innocence , later finding out his true intentions, getting offended and slamming his proposal to get laid with her  as an act of utter disgust.
So the groom is killed, since that fellow is a politicians son he escapes.
Later, the story deals with how she avenges her lost love as service to the nation, cleaning the clan of corrupt politicians ruling Mumbai all by herself.

The thing I most liked about the movie is the determination it potrays.
The lines that " I will not bow to evil, I will do what is right and fight for my right. " is repeated like the theme of the whole movie.

Kartik Tiwari has shown exceptional skills in potraying his acting abilities. The work done by the actors Ankit Varshneya and Abhinav Kumar is awesome.

The Dum factor in the film can be seen as " Been made efforts towards to get out" , but it pumps off. Probably because of the background score or the editing one is left with a difficult choice to make over there.

The second half of the film after the interval is more catchy and interesting.

The locations and scenes are beautiful where the 1st half of the movie covers the mountains in the north, some scenes are from Whistling woods International and shot wonderfully.

I congratulate my colleagues at WWI , for gaining access to their first ever feature film and getting a large chunk of footage in the entire film.

If I had to rate this film - I'd give it 3Stars

So people, the movie is ok for a one time watch!!!

Go ahead and enjoy it.
